Colour Me Beautiful

How colour blooms success

Hello friend,

This issue of the newsletter is all about colour and it just makes me so happy! In the past few weeks, I’ve met the loveliest women. The kind of people who you could talk to for hours. Their affinity for colour is matched by their positive outlooks on life. There’s something about a woman who carries herself boldly in the world, unafraid to take risks, living life in full colour!

Sasha Jardine’s love of colour is so infectious, she has this ‘black is the new black’-type person lusting over her wool coats that come in a kaleidoscope of shades; Jenn Harper is a beauty founder who is well on her way to building a billion dollar brand with colourful makeup that is inextricably tied to the beauty and colour in nature; Taiga Bentley is an art dealer turned quilter. She makes the most incredible modern quilts that burst with colour and her joyous personality shines through in every piece; and Nicola Scott makes red hot chili sauce, weaving her colourful life experiences together in a recipe that has as many layers of flavour, as there are stamps on her passport.

I encourage you to respond to the poll near the end of the newsletter to let us know what you think of our content. This week, we’ve added a new section about Women in the News. We’ve curated some interesting articles about women making headlines. Be sure to check them out and let us know if you want more where they came from.

Enjoy!

This coat comes in a rainbow of colours. It’s a vintage style with a modern twist, made in all-natural wool. It’s exactly what Sasha Jardine couldn’t find in the sea of plastic puffers on the market, so she designed her dream coat herself.

A dream inspired Cheekbone founder Jenn Harper to direct her career ambitions to the beauty industry. Today her colour cosmetics company is a going concern and she’s on a mission to define a new category in the business: Indigenous Beauty

Taiga Bentley is a storyteller. She uses colour and pattern in mystifying combinations to portray family histories and personal interests in the form of large-scale gradient quilts. Her background as an art dealer and curator informs every stitch.

To describe Nicola Scott as scrappy is an understatement. She moved to Canada from Australia for love and when she couldn’t find a job, she launched a business, making chili oil that reminds her of family and her travels. She shares her favourite way to serve it.
