Fall Trend Report
Canadian woman-owned brands serving up fall style
Hello friend,
The last week of August can be taxing. If you did a university drop off this week, you’re likely a little blue. If you spent time organizing for a fresh start in September, you’re probably a little tired. If you’ve got kids who are anxious about going back to school, you may just need a break! As we bid adieu to summer and welcome the unofficial start to fall, we wanted to give you a pick-me-up. Ready for some fashion inspiration for the new season?
This week in the newsletter, we highlight the five trends we’re most excited about for fall. Each one comes with an on-trend find from a Canadian woman-owned brand. Please do consider shopping Canadian as you add pieces to your wardrobe this fall. As of this week, many Canadian brands face a significant loss of business due to the de minimis exemption coming to an end. It means shipments they send to the US valued under $800 are now subject to tariffs. Many have stopped shipping across the border altogether. They need our support! We have a feeling the brands we feature this week will inspire you to invest your fashion dollars in homegrown talent.
Now pour yourself a coffee, put aside your September to-do list, and take five minutes of “me time” to learn about the trends and some of the incredible women in our country bringing them to life. One last thing, thank you to Tangle for sponsoring this week’s newsletter. We are so grateful.
Enjoy!

Trend #1 Ladylike Dressing: Bows, ruffles, and florals are details that make for a prim and proper look reminiscent of another era. We found the perfect accessory to complement this ultra-feminine vibe. Each piece is hand-made by the designer in her storefront studio.

Trend#2 Peekaboo Garments: Is it daytime clothing or is it lingerie? If you have to ask the question, the garment is right on trend. We found a designer in Vancouver who creates made-to-order dresses in the sheerest of sheer fabric, and we can’t take our eyes away.

Trend #3 Faux Fur: Warm, cozy, and super chic! Faux fur is dominating fashion pages this season. Meet the zero-waste outerwear brand in Winnipeg that has been waiting for this moment and is ready to help you top your look with showstopping faux fur.

Trend#4 The Business Suit Reimagined: If you’re being mandated back to the office, don’t miss this story! Corporate dress codes may be a thing of the past, but power dressing is right in style. One of your favourite Montreal designers has the suit you’ve always wanted.

Trend #5 Preppy Pieces: If you grew up in the 80s, this one brings back serious memories. If you regret not saving your back-to-school loafers from high school, we’ve got you covered. Meet the Canadian footwear brand with a new take on an old favourite.
Most political news lives in the extremes.
It’s either rage bait meant to rile you up, or echo chambers that only reinforce what you already believe. The result? More division, less understanding — and a lot of burnout.
We give you the full story on one major political issue a day, broken down with arguments from the left, right, and center — plus clear, independent analysis. No spin. No shouting. No bias disguised as truth.
In just 10 minutes a day, you’ll actually understand what’s happening — and how all sides see it.
