Mother's Day Stories

Woman-owned wellness brands inspired by mothers and daughters

In partnership with

Hello friend,

Happy Mother’s Day to those of you celebrating your own mother or your children are celebrating you. Let me begin by saying that Mother’s Day isn’t always pink peonies and cupcakes. If this occasion comes with difficult memories, my heart goes out to you. This is my first Mother’s Day without my mom. Each year on this day, I would host the family to celebrate her. It feels strange to have no other purpose than to remember the incredible mother she was.

I relate closely to the mothers and daughters in this issue, whether they work as a team or one or the other of them inspired a product. While my mom and I never worked together, she was always by my side. In many ways, I feel that she is still there, pushing me forward, or helping me navigate obstacles.

If you are celebrating this Mother’s Day, taking time to reflect, or just need some pampering, I’ve curated products this week with a wellness bent. I hope you have the opportunity to enjoy a little solace and relaxation as you read the stories behind the brands.

Thank you to this week’s sponsor, Wispr Flow. As always, I’m appreciative of the support.

Enjoy!

The lines between home and office are blurred between the mother-daughter team behind this natural deodorant brand, and they wouldn’t have it any other way. (BTW, I’m using it now and it’s divine).

Motherhood and the sensitive skin that came with it prompted her to start the business. The teachings of her late mother informed her approach. Get safe, effective skincare made in this brand’s in-house lab in Alberta. (PS, the Empress Eye Cream is my favourite)

The mother-daughter duo behind this taste of Egypt came to this country and used their traditional drink to welcome new friends to their home. It was so well-received they launched a business.

The founder behind this all-in-one skincare magic named the product after her daughter. She created it after a health scare and infused every drop with love and renewal.

Good for the skin. Good for the earth. A life-changing trip to South America was the launchpad for this low-waste, all-natural, vegan skincare. The founder, a mother of two, describes working with her daughters as “a dream come true.”
