Strength in Numbers

Canadian Women Entrepreneurs thriving with strength

Hello friend,

In a week that US Tariffs dominated headlines and Serena Williams flexed some investment muscle buying an ownership stake in the Toronto Tempo WNBA team and International Women’s Day was celebrated around the world, we are inspired by the notion of strength as a unifying force. Whether from politicians of different stripes standing ground together to protect our economic future; a sports heroine making her mark in male dominated worlds of sports and sports management; or women heeding the call to “accelerate action,” the theme of International Women’s Day, we are reminded how strength is such an important attribute for women who choose entrepreneurship.

Each of the Canadian women we feature this week has their own story of strength that motivates and pushes them forward, despite the challenging times in which we live. We feature a Toronto jewellery designer whose breast cancer journey has resulted in hope and positivity in her business; a soapless soap brand that emerged from a move back to Canada for a seasoned haircare entrepreneur; a stay-at-home mom turned food entrepreneur who is putting purpose before profit; a low-waste cosmetics brand that is challenging the premise that we need cosmetics to feel good about ourselves; and a Toronto artist who delivers light through her work and encourages us to share it with others.

At a time when Canadians are actively seeking out homegrown brands to support, we’ve been focussing on women entrepreneurs from our own country, with exceptional products and compelling founder stories. If there is a Canadian women-owned brand you love and think our audience would love it too, simply reply to this email and tell us about it. We’d love to hear from you!

 Enjoy!
